CHICAGO, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University's Nick Kilian has been named the CCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending Oct. 29. The league office made the announcement Tuesday morning.
Kilian collected CCAC Defensive Player of the Week accord after playing a role in both Olivet Nazarene game-winning goals last week, enabling the Tigers to claim their third straight regular-season title. The senior defender finished the week with one goal and two assists, while also being a part of a defensive unit that did not allow a goal in the 2-0 week.
Kilian provided the game-winning goal and an assist in last Tuesday's 3-0 win over Trinity Christian College. Then, on Saturday, in a must-win situation to secure the crown, his corner kick set up the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory versus Viterbo University.
The program's all-time leader in assists, Kilian now has 37 for his career.
Olivet Nazarene gained the title by going 8-1-2 in league play. Overall, the Tigers are 10-3-2.
