TIGERS OUTSCORE VIRGIN ISLANDS 38-24 AFTER HALFTIME TO WIN THE GAME

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Olivet Nazarene (IL) (9-2) secured a 72-62 victory over Virgin Islands (2-7) on Wednesday. The Tigers outscored Virgin Islands 38-24 in the second half, with a significant contribution of 48 points in the paint.

Olivet Nazarene opened the first half with a strong start, as Dylan Fey scored two quick layups, assisted by Mason Wood, to give them an early 4–0 lead. Eli Edwards further extended the lead to 6–0 with a layup at 18:39. However, Virgin Islands responded, eventually taking the lead at 15:59 with a 3-pointer by Brandon Rasmussen, assisted by Chad Molloy, to make it 9–6 in favor of the home team.

The teams traded leads throughout the half, with Keagen Holder scoring to reclaim the lead for the Tigers at 11:41. Despite a late push by Virgin Islands, Olivet Nazarene managed to stay close, highlighted by a 3-pointer from Fey at 4:37. The half concluded with Virgin Islands holding a narrow 38–34 advantage.

The Tigers gained control early in the second half with a significant run, turning an eight-point deficit into a lead. Fey contributed a key layup at 18:14 to narrow the gap, while Wood's 3-pointer at 17:01 brought them within striking distance. Olivet Nazarene then took the lead with fastbreak layups from Fey and Wood, assisted by Holder.

The visitors expanded their lead to 11 points by 1:52, highlighted by Edwards' scoring contributions in the paint. The Tigers capitalized on turnovers, adding to the momentum with strong defensive plays. The half ended with Olivet Nazarene outscoring Virgin Islands 38–24, securing a commanding 72–62 victory.

Edwards led the team with 21 points, adding 10 rebounds and three blocks. Landen Hale finished with 16 points, converting 7 of 8 field goal attempts. Holder contributed 11 points and recorded seven assists. Fey also scored 11 points and collected eight rebounds.

Olivet Nazarene holds a 9-2 overall record. Virgin Islands stands at 2-7 for the season.
