CHICAGO, Ill. — Tigers dropped a pair of games on Monday afternoon at the SXU Softball Field, falling 5–2 and 4–0 despite solid efforts at the plate and in the circle.
In game one, the Tigers struck early, taking a 1–0 lead in the first inning. RyLyn Adams reached base and advanced into scoring position before coming home on a sacrifice fly by Gwen Bender following a double from Stephanie Hause.
Olivet remained competitive throughout, tallying five hits in the contest. Hause led the way with three hits, including a double, and drove in a run. The Tigers added another run in the seventh inning when Christa Contreras scored on a Hause single, but a late rally was cut short at the plate.
Defensively, Analeah Ramirez contributed six assists from third base, while Olivia Saldana pitched 5.1 innings, striking out two.
In game two, Olivet continued to generate opportunities but was unable to capitalize, leaving nine runners on base. The Tigers recorded two hits in the contest and showed patience at the plate, drawing multiple walks.
RyLyn Adams was a key presence on the bases, drawing three walks and stealing two bases. Christa Contreras reached base three times, going 1-for-1 with two walks and a stolen base, while Rheanna Slavicek added a hit.
Victoria Strines delivered a strong outing in relief, pitching three scoreless innings and allowing no runs while recording a strikeout.
Across both games, Olivet showed persistence offensively and aggressiveness on the basepaths but was unable to convert key scoring chances.
