TIGERS SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER WITH GRAND VIEW ON SENIOR DAY

Grand View (IA)- Olivet Nazarene split its weekend doubleheader with Grand View, taking the opener behind strong pitching before a late rally fell just short in Game 2. The Tigers showed flashes of sharp execution in both matchups, keeping each game tight deep into the afternoon.

In game one, Olivet edged out Grand View 2–1 in a tight, low‑scoring matchup, leaning on timely hitting and a lockdown effort from the entire pitching staff. The Tigers struck early when Landon Holt doubled home Alex Seaton in the first, then added what became the game‑winning run in the fifth on a Luke Nicholaus RBI infield single. From there, ONU's pitching took over. Tyler Snoreck and Luke Shoven combined for four scoreless innings to open the day, Nicholas Gniedziejko punched out five across three strong frames, and Bryson Horning closed the door with two steady innings to secure the save.

In game two, Olivet's late push wasn't quite enough in a 4–3 loss, but the Tigers showed plenty of fight down the stretch. After falling behind 4–0 in the fifth, ONU stormed back with a three‑run seventh. Quinn Rost jump‑started the rally with an RBI double, Jude Coursey followed with a run‑scoring single, and Alex Seaton added a sacrifice fly to pull the Tigers within one. Olivet's bullpen kept the door open with four shutout innings from Anderson, Armstrong, Kearney, and Roberts, but the Tigers couldn't find the final swing they needed.

The Tigers close out the regular season finishing second in conference with a 23-9 conference record, and 28-20 overall. After a big season turnaround, and strong finish to the 2026 campaign, they look ahead to the CCAC conference tournament this week.
