BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's volleyball team made quick work of Emmaus with a 25-9, 25-11, 25-16 straight-set victory Saturday afternoon in McHie Arena.
The Tigers' offensive efficiency was highlighted by a combined hitting percentage of .329 across the match.
Olivet Nazarene seized control early in Set 1 with a dominating 9-0 run, highlighted by standout performances from Naomi Monney-Hori and Skylar Dorsey. Analiese Fredin was instrumental, setting up multiple kills and serving two aces to extend the lead. Despite a late push from Emmaus, the Tigers closed the set decisively at 25-9 with Fredin's final kill, maintaining their momentum through consistent offensive pressure.
Olivet Nazarene began Set 2 with precision, quickly establishing a lead through a service ace by Fredin and a kill from Astyn Casey. The home team maintained momentum, with Monney-Hori and Ayla Dorsey contributing crucial points, as Fredin delivered multiple assists throughout. Despite a brief Emmaus rally, the Tigers capitalized on their opponent's miscues, including service aces by Ayla Dorsey, to secure a commanding 25-11 set victory.
Olivet Nazarene opened Set 3 with a commanding presence, quickly establishing momentum through an array of strategic plays. Jayley Fisher showcased her playmaking skills, contributing several assists, including a key setup for Sabrina Sanif's early kill. The home team's offensive strength was on full display as Ayla Dorsey delivered three consecutive service aces, extending the score to 15-5. Despite a brief rally from Emmaus, Olivet Nazarene maintained control and sealed the set with a decisive 25-16 victory, highlighted by Skylar Dorsey's back-to-back kills to conclude the match.
Skylar Dorsey led the offensive charge with 10 kills on 17 attempts, recording a .471 hitting percentage. Breanna Lamie was a defensive presence, collecting 16 digs in the match. Sabrina Sanif contributed significantly at the net with one solo block and four block assists, totaling five blocks. Fredin showcased her versatility, delivering 14 assists and five service aces.
The win improves Olivet Nazarene to a 3-14 overall record. They will return to conference play with a home match against Indiana South Bend Tuesday.
