ONU PLAYS TO SCORELESS DRAW AT GOSHEN

GOSHEN, Ind. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw at Goshen Thursday afternoon at the Ingold Soccer Complex. The Tigers had their chances, outshooting the Maple Leafs 25-7, but ultimately walked away with a tie.

Olivet kicked off the first half with a strong offensive presence, highlighted by Sofia Diaz's shot hitting the post in the 17th minute. Throughout the half, the visitors consistently challenged Goshen's defense with multiple attempts on goal, including four saves by Goshen's Aina Lopez from shots by Melea Miller and Kennadi Thiessen. Despite several opportunities, including a corner kick by Diaz in the 21st minute, the half ended scoreless with both teams tied 0-0.

The second half commenced with the visitors maintaining offensive pressure, highlighted by early attempts from Diaz and Miller, both of which were high. Despite several shot attempts, including a promising effort from Emma Daniels that struck the crossbar in the 81st minute, Olivet was unable to convert these opportunities into goals. Goalkeeper Meegan Randall ensured the visitors stayed level with a save against Evyn Pruett's attempt in the final minutes, concluding the half scoreless.

Diaz led Olivet with six shots, including two on goal, while Miller registered five shots, three of which were on target. Arabelle Laurent contributed two shots, with one on target. In goal, Randall played a full 90 minutes, recording one save and securing a clean sheet in the match.

With the draw, the Tigers maintain a record of 1-0-1. ONU will play its final non-conference tilt with a match at Huntington on Sept. 13.
