OFFENSE COMES TO LIFE IN 7-0 ROUT OF MOUNT MARY

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – After being limited to just one goal in their last three contests, the Olivet Nazarene University women's soccer team exploded for seven goals in a 7-0 rout of Mount Mary Wednesday evening.

Olivet Nazarene began the first half with a strong offensive performance, quickly putting pressure on Mount Mary. Melea Miller opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 12th minute, giving Olivet Nazarene a 1-0 lead. Siarra Sandobal extended the advantage with a goal assisted by Aaliyah Racadio-Kaho in the 26th minute, followed by another quick strike from Miller just two minutes later.

The momentum continued as Samantha Guerra found the back of the net in the 29th minute, bringing the score to 4-0. The Tigers maintained control throughout the half, limiting Mount Mary's opportunities and closing the first half with a commanding lead.

The second half began with Olivet Nazarene maintaining offensive pressure against Mount Mary, as Kennadi Thiessen hit the crossbar shortly after the restart. Despite several attempts, including shots by Samantha Larsen and Jocelyn Royce, the Blue Angels' goalkeeper Anna Corpas Salcedo was able to make key saves to keep the scoreline unchanged initially.

The Tigers broke through in the 55th minute when Royce converted a penalty kick, extending their lead to 5-0. Arabelle Laurent then found the back of the net in the 73rd minute, assisted by Miller, increasing the margin to 6-0. Mia Linares added another goal in the 89th minute, securing a 7-0 victory for the Tigers by the final whistle.

Miller led Olivet Nazarene with two goals and one assist, recording six shots and converting one penalty. Royce added a goal with four shots, including a successful penalty. Linares scored once and notched five shots with three on target. Sandobal also contributed a goal, taking four shots with two on goal.

The Tigers hold a record of 4-0-4 overall and 2-0-3 in conference play.
