BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — The Tigers secured a key two-game sweep over St. Ambrose at Tiger Field, earning 3–2 and 5–3 victories behind timely hitting and complete-game performances in the circle.
In game one, the Tigers took control early and held on for a 3–2 win. The offense struck in the first inning, as RayElle Brennan reached base and came around to score on a single from Christa Contreras. A sacrifice fly later in the inning added another run, giving the Tigers a 2–0 lead. The Tigers added an insurance run in the third when Stephanie Hause tripled and scored on a Gwen Bender single.
Victoria Strines delivered a complete-game performance, limiting St. Ambrose to two runs on six hits. Despite a late push from the opponent in the seventh inning, the Tigers' defense held firm to secure the win. Hause and Bender each recorded two hits, while Contreras contributed an RBI and a run scored.
The Tigers followed with a 5–3 victory in game two, once again relying on a strong start. A three-run first inning set the tone, with the Tigers capitalizing on opportunities to take an early lead. They added two more runs in the fourth inning when RayElle Brennan delivered a clutch double to drive in two runs.
Olivia Saldana pitched a complete game in the win, allowing three runs while keeping St. Ambrose from building momentum late. Brennan finished with two RBIs and a double, while Rheanna Slavicek added two hits and an RBI to lead the offense.
Across both games, the Tigers combined for 12 hits and showcased consistent pitching, with two complete-game efforts helping secure the sweep. The Tigers controlled the pace early in each contest and executed in key moments to earn the conference wins.
