TIGERS CONCLUDE SEASON AT WEATHER-SHORTENED NAIA WOMEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Olivet Nazarene University women's golf team battled challenging conditions at the Eagle Crest Golf Club for the NAIA Women's Golf Championship, an event ultimately shortened to three rounds due to weather. Despite a determined effort, the Tigers were unable to advance past the cut after the second round, as only the top 16 teams moved on to the final day of competition.

In the opening round on the par-72 course, ONU was led by Taylor Ice, who paced the lineup with an 80. Mya Jones followed closely with an 82, while Sophie Burns added an 86. Lizzie Howard posted an 87, and Amelia Birge rounded out the scoring with a 93. Sitting in 28th place after the first round, the Tigers would need to make up ground to make the cut.

During the second round, ONU continued to compete hard against a strong national field. Burns improved her standing with a team-best 85, while Jones carded an 87. Ice, who led the Tigers on day one, finished with a 91 in round two. Howard and Bella Rosado also recorded scores of 91 to complete the team's scorecard.

Although the Tigers did not climb into the top 16 needed to advance, the team demonstrated resilience and steady play under difficult weather conditions.
