BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's soccer team have now won their last five consecutive games and are unbeaten in their last seven after besting St. Francis (Ill.) 1-0 Tuesday night. Kaylee Evers netted the game-winner late in the first half while Jaici Wright was credited with the shutout in the win.
St. Francis looked to net the first goal in the first 10 minutes of the contest. The home side attempted two shots and won the first two corner kicks of the night. The Tigers flipped the field for the next 20 minutes forcing the Saints' netminder into two saves off shot attempts from Melea Miller and Abbey Cash. The breakthrough came in the 44th minute. Cash's corner kick fell to the feet of Sara Loichinger whose layoff to Evers allowed the junior to finish at the far post. The late goal gave the Tigers the slim lead at the break.

ONU laid the pressure on SFU in the first 15 minutes of the second period with four corner kicks and four shot attempts to St. Francis' none. Olivet's backline held firm for the subsequent ten minutes of play as the Saints made their best push of the match for an equalizer. Wright was called into action in the Saints' final scoring chance of the match in the 89th minute to preserve the shutout and the win.
