PEARSON PACES THE TIGERS IN THE SAINT AMBROSE QUAD

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Olivet Nazarene University women's swim and dive team traveled to the Davenport Central Natatorium for a quad-meet against host Saint Ambrose, Midland, and Morningside on Friday night.  The Tigers won the meet with a score of 786 points. 

 

ONU started the meet on a high note as they placed first and second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.19 and 1:54.11, respectively.  A couple of races later, Allison Pearson continued her strong start to the season taking first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:10.99.  Megan Schroeder placed third in the race.  Pearson continued her dominance as she also won the 100-yard butterfly with, finishing with a time of 1:00.12.  Addison Daily finished fourth in the race. 

 

The Tigers continued their success in relays and placed first and second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with times of 1:40.66 and 1:42.63.  Schroeder earned her first win of the season as she placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.80.  Pearson, Julia Vega, and Halle Briner finished second, third, and fourth respectively.  ONU then placed one and two in the 400-yard relay, in the next race.  In the next event, Carley Logan won the 1000-yard freestyle, winning the race by nearly 45 seconds.  Jennifer Paul finished third in the race. 

 

The Tigers dominated in their second meet winning the meet with 786 points.  They were 250.5 points better than Saint Ambrose, who finished in second place. 

 

RANKING UPDATE

The Tigers, according to Swim Cloud are the Number 1 team in the NAIA with 556.12 points.  Mulligan and Keiser round out the top three in the poll.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers are back to the pool on for the Bethel University (Ind.) Tournament on Saturday, October 30th.  The first race will commence at noon Central Time.
