ONU RUNS AWAY WITH THE BUMBLE RUMBLE TITLE

DAVENPORT, Iowa—The Olivet Nazarene women's track and field team competed in its first road meet traveling to Saint Ambrose for the Bumble Rumble on Friday afternoon.

 

The Tigers won the meet with a final score of 203.50.  Meet host Saint Ambrose followed with 73 and Augustana College rounded out the top three with 56.50 points.

 

The Tigers claimed four, first-place finishes in the running events.  Two of those first-place finishes belong to Linda Griffith, who won the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles with times of 7.92 and 9.25, respectively.  Kimberly Brent and Olivia Sturrup finished second and third with times of 8.07 and 8.09 seconds.  The Tigers also saw Tera Miller win the 200-Meter dash finishing with a time of 26.43. Eleanor Fournier rounded out the Tiger top finishers with a win in the 3000-meter run and Jacey Schickel crossed the finish line second. 

 

Madeleine Robinson led the Tigers in the field events, sweeping the throwing events.  Robinson won the shot put with a mark of 13.72 meters and weight throw with a mark of 15.40 meters.  The Tigers also saw victories from Macy O'Neill in the high jump and Melissa Sanders in the triple jump.  The Tigers also grabbed two of the top three spots in the pole vault with Lindsey Shouse and Olivia Earl finishing tied for second. 

 

The Tigers concluded the meet on a high-note as the team of Lindsay DiazDeLeon, Miller, Griffith, and Rogers won the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:08.82.  The Tigers won the meet with 203.50 points.
