GRIFFITH AND ROBINSON SWEEP CCAC TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) has chosen Olivet Nazarene University women's track and field sprinter Linda Griffith and thrower Madeleine Robinson as its Track and Field Athletes of the Week.  The conference announced its selections on Wednesday. 

 

Griffith had a great meet for the Tigers at the Bumble Rumble on Friday.  Griffith won both the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles. Her time of 7.92 in the 60-meter dash is the second fastest in the CCAC and her time of 9.25 is the fastest time in the CCAC.  The South Holland, Ill. native finished the meet with a first-place finish in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:08.82. 

 

Like Griffith, Robinson, equally, had a very productive meet for the Tigers.  Robinson finished on-top of the podium in the shot put with a mark of 13.72 meters.  With that mark, Robinson hit the A and B- cuts for the Track and Field Championships and is currently ranked first in the CCAC and the NAIA.  In addition, the Sandwich, Ill. native earned a first-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 15.40 meters.  Robinson currently ranks second in the CCAC in the event. 

 

Griffith, Robinson, and the Tigers return home on Saturday, January 29th as they host the ONU Invitational inside the Perry Center.  Field events will begin at 10 a.m. and running events will begin at 10:30 a.m.
