WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD EARN SEVEN FIRST-PLACE FINISHES HOSTING ONU INVITE

BOURBONNAIS, Ill.—The Olivet Nazarene women's track and field team hosted their second ONU Invite of the season Saturday afternoon. Reigning Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Field Athlete of the Week, Madeleine Robinson, highlighted the day with two first-place finishes in the Shot Put and the Weight Throw while meeting the NAIA "B" standard with a weight throw of 15.95 meters.


Olivia Sturrup earned the Tiger's their lone first-place finish in the sprint events with a time of 26.41 in the 200-meter dash. Meghann Cullen clocked in at 8.52 in the 60-meter dash which was good enough for a fifth-place finish followed by a fourth-place finish in the 60-Meter Hurdles with a time of 9.97. 

 

ONU tallied seven top-four finishes in the distance competitions. Both second-place finishes were earned by Lindsey DiazDeLeon in the 600-meter race and Eleanor Fournier in the 3000-meter race. DiazDeLeon crossed the line at 1:42.02 and Fournier timed in at 10:55.59.

 

Olivet dominated the field events taking home five first-place finishes, three second-place finishes, and four third-place finishes. Robinson earned two first-place finishes in the throwing events. Lindsey Shouse cleared 3.27 meters in the Pole Vault, In the Long Jump, Tristyn Grube leaped 5.05 meters, and Melissa Sanders registered a distance of 10.30 meters in the Triple Jump. Each performance was enough to beat out the competition for the day.  

 

The team of Mady Rogers, Grube, Sydnie Hatch, and Gwen Meyer finished the meet for the Tigers as they won the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:19.37.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers host the Walter Cramer Invitational on Saturday, February 5th inside the Perry Student Life and Recreation Center.  The meet will start at 10:30 a.m.
