LATOCHA BREAKS INDOOR SCHOOL RECORD AS TIGERS FINISH FOURTH IN THE PAT HEENAN INVITATIONAL

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's track and field team traveled to the Pat Heenan Invitational on Saturday.

 

The Tigers saw a pair of fourth-place performances.  Olivia Sturrup earned her fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.93.  Lindsey DiazDeLeon finished in fourth-place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.72.  Tori Orton, Madyson Rogers, and Rachel Shepard finished in fifth, seventh, and eighth-place in the event, respectively.  Sturrup also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.23.   

 

Lynette Latocha led the Tigers in field events with a first-place finish in the high jump.  Her mark of 1.71 broke the ONU indoor school record that was set in 2018 by Anne-Lorraine Brown.  Also, Latocha achieved "A" and "B" standards for indoor nationals and is currently first in the NAIA.  Madeleine Robinson continued her dominance in the shot put as she won the event with a mark of 13.52 meters.  Courtney Hall then took third in the weight throw with a mark of 15.99 meters.  Robinson finished 5th in the event.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers host the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Conference Championships on Friday, February 18th through Saturday, February 19th inside the Perry SLRC.  Friday's action starts at 1 p.m. and Saturday's action starts at 10 a.m.
