BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) women's soccer team opened their home schedule on Monday with a 1-1 draw against Siena Heights University.
ONU came out strong, with junior Melea Miller scoring her first goal of the season in the 11th minute, giving the Tigers an early advantage. ONU maintained control for much of the first half, creating several promising opportunities to extend their advantage. However, despite their offensive pressure, the Tigers were unable to capitalize further.
The second half saw continued efforts from ONU to double their lead, but the Saints defense held firm. Late in the match, Siena Heights managed to break through and equalized in the 84th minute, leveling the score at 1-1. Both teams pressed for a decisive goal in the final minutes, but the match ended in a stalemate, with each side earning a point.
Looking Ahead
The Tigers will continue their homestand on August 31st, as they take on Cumberland University. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CST at Snowbarger Athletic Complex. ONU will be looking to secure their first win of the season on their home turf.
