Bourbonnais, Ill. - Olivet Nazarene sophomore guard Lindsey Nell was named CCAC Defensive Player of the Week after a strong performance in two conference wins that kept the Tigers in the No. 1 seed.
Nell averaged 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4 steals per game, shooting 46% from the field, 38% from three, and 100% from the free-throw line. She continues to be one of the most reliable scoring guards in the CCAC, but her defense stood out this week.
She leads the CCAC in total steals and steals per game, and is having one of the best steals-per-game seasons for Tigerball in over ten years. Nell recorded 8 steals on the week, the most by any player in the conference.
She also helped on the glass, with 8 of her 9 rebounds coming on the defensive end, playing a key role in getting stops in the half court.
Nell's effort on defense helped the Tigers secure two important wins and continue their strong run in conference play.
