CHICAGO, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University's Caleb Corro has claimed the Week 15 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week accord, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Corro garnered his third CCAC Offensive Player of the Week award after averaging 26.5 points and 3.5 assists for the seven-day period ending Feb.16, and netting a career-best 37 points in an 83-73 decision over Holy Cross College last Wednesday.
In that game, the junior guard was on fire from the field, converting 13 of his 21 attempts (.619), including 6-of-9 from three-point range. He also hit on five of his six free throws. His other numbers included three assists, two rebounds and one steal.
Corro added another 16 markers, while dishing out four assists and pulling down a pair of boards in a 92-78 victory over Trinity Christian College on Saturday.
For the two games combined, Corro registered a .545 clip from the field (18-of-33) with an outstanding .625 reading (10-of-16) from three-point range. He also missed just one free-throw attempt, going 7-for-8.
The two victories put Olivet's overall record back at .500 (13-13), while improving to 11-7 in the conference.
