SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Jack Busch and Luke Martin both finished inside the top 10 to lead the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf team to a second-place team finish at the Battle at Blackthorn Monday and Tuesday at the Blackthorn Golf Club.
After carding a 78 in Monday's opening round, Busch knocked four strokes off his second round to finish at 152 in a tie for seventh place. Martin finished one stroke back of his senior teammate, firing rounds of 76 and 77 to finish in ninth at 153.
Jack Riminton nearly missed the top 10, finishing in a four-way tie for 11th place at 156 after improving his second-round score by eight strokes. Chris Brown rounded out the ONU scoring in a tie for 15th with a score of 157. Joseph Luchtenburg wrapped up the two-day tournament at 160.
The Tigers finished with a score of 613, good for runner-up at the 11-team tournament. Host school Bethel (Ind.) took the team title at 593.
ONU will now travel west to take part in the NAIA National Preview on Sept. 23-24 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
