ONU PLACES FOURTH AT MBU INVITATIONAL BEHIND FOUR TOP-20 FINISHES

ALTON, Ill. – All four scorers for the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf team finished inside the top 20 of a near 80-player field to secure a fourth-place finish in the Missouri Baptist Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.

Joseph Luchtenburg led the charge for ONU with a 158 in the 36-hole event. The freshman opened with a four-over 76 before closing at 82 to land in a tie for 14th place. Jack Busch was just one shot behind his teammate, earning sole possession of 16th with a 159 (78-81).

Chris Brown fired the team's best round of the tournament with a three-over 75 Monday before tapering off to close at 162 in 19th place. Jack Rimington knocked a stroke off his second round to wrap the scoring for the Tigers, finishing with a 163 (82-81) to end in a tie for 20th. Luke Martin and Hunter Trainor competed for ONU, as well.

The Tigers opened with a 311 Monday before tapering off with a 331 Tuesday for a 642 total score, good for fourth place at the 15-team tournament. Bethel (Tenn.) took the team crown with a 605.

ONU will now turn their attention to the postseason, where they will look to defend their conference title at the CCAC Championships April 28-29 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
