SILVIS, Ill. – Chris Brown made the all-tournament team to lead the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf team to a runner-up finish at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship played Monday and Tuesday at TPC Deere Run.
The sophomore from Crestwood, Ky., kept all three of his rounds at 80 strokes or fewer across the 54-hole event. He opened with a 76 and 79 in Monday's rounds before closing at 80 in the final round Tuesday for a 235, earning his spot on the all-tournament team in third place.
Two other Tigers also finished inside the top 10 at the conference tournament. Joseph Luchtenburg finished in a tie for eighth place, carding the team's best round when he closed with a 74 to finish at 244. Jack Busch was just two shots back in 10th place at 246.
Luke Martin rounded out the ONU scoring in 16th place, carding rounds of 83 and 87 Monday before finishing strong at 81 for a 251. Jack Rimington also competed for the Tigers, carding a 254 to finish 18th.
ONU used a strong final round to finish runner-up in the team standings. The Tigers opened with rounds of 325 and 328 to finish day one in third place before firing off their best round at 319 to climb into second place at 972.
