CHICAGO, Ill. – Five members of the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf team garnered all-conference recognition from the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) as the league office announced its postseason honor roll Friday.
Chris Brown, Jack Busch, Luke Martin, and Jack Rimington were all selected to the CCAC's second team, while Brent Wright was honored as the CCAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year.
Brown earned his first recognition from the conference after making the all-tournament team at the CCAC Championships, firing rounds of 76-79-80 for a 236 to finish third overall. The sophomore from Crestwood, Ky., also placed third at the Bill Johnson Memorial and averaged a team-best 79.27 over his 22 rounds on the year.
Busch, the only repeat selection for the Tigers in this season's honor roll, finished inside the top-20 seven times and recorded four top-10 finishes. Last season's individual medalist at the CCAC Championships, the senior from Naperville, Ill., averaged an 80.18 over 22 rounds this season to earn his second straight nod from the conference.
Martin recorded six top-10 finishes this season, highlighted by a runner-up placement at the Saints Classic, where he carded ONU's best round of the year with an even-par 72. Through 22 rounds, the freshman from Eureka, Ill., averaged an 80.05.
Rimington made two all-tournament teams this season to earn his first distinction from the CCAC. The junior from Oswego, Ill., opened the schedule with a runner-up performance at the Clarke Fall Invite and later added a third-place finish at the Conference Clash. Rimington recorded a 79.75 average over 22 rounds.
Leading the team was Wright, who picked up his second consecutive CCAC Coach of the Year award. Wright coached the Tigers to four runner-up team finishes over 11 appearances this season, including a second-place performance at the conference championships.
