KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Olivet Nazarene University women's basketball is heading back to the NAIA National Tournament. The Tigers earned an automatic bid to the tournament after finishing as the No. 2 seed in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) and will compete in the opening round on March 14th in Marian, Ind. ONU, the No. 9 seed in the Liston Quadrant, will take on No. 8 seed Grand View University in the first round.
ONU enters the national tournament with a 20-10 overall record, marking the program's 16th appearance in the tournament and its first since 2022. Grand View (23-7) received an at-large bid after a strong season and is making its 13th national tournament appearance. The Vikings, ranked No. 17 in the NAIA preseason poll and No. 23 in week one, received votes in every subsequent poll but fell outside the top 25.
The Tigers and Vikings will meet for just the second time in program history, with Grand View taking the first matchup in 2018, 98-84.
The winner of Friday's game will advance to the second round to face the winner of No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan and No. 16 Philander Smith. The second-round matchup will take place on March 15th at Luckey Arena in Marion, Ind.
