MOLINE, Ill. – A fast start propelled the Olivet Nazarene University women's tennis team to a 5-2 victory over the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees in the conference opener Friday afternoon at the QC Tennis Club.

ONU set the tone early by securing the doubles point. Natasha Nieto and Rafaela Luna held on for a 6-4 win in the top match, while Chieh-Yu Chen and Savannah Amatyleon teamed up for a 6-2 victory in the No. 2 match to lock up the point.

Nieto, the back-to-back CCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, continued her hot streak with a straight-set 6-1, 6-2 triumph in the top single match. Chen dominated her opening set in a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 2, and Rafaela Luna kept up the pressure with a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the No. 3 match.

Jori Lambert tacked down the team win with a 7-6, 6-3 victory at the No. 5 singles match, lifting the Tigers to their third consecutive victory.

ONU will look to continue its hot start in league play with a home match against Holy Cross Monday.
